Soccer In The Streets Internship Opportunities
Event / Project Management -
Event Manager
Reports to: Program Director
General description: Event Manager is responsible for overseeing
the implementation of all event and/or program activities by local
staff and volunteers, coordinating support and resources for such
activities through the headquarters office, and fostering relationships
with Soccer In The Streets programs and clients. Event Manager also
performs other functions as assigned by the Program Director.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Event & Program Development and Administration
- Oversee implementation of programs and event plan
- Identify and develop relationships with program coordinators,
media, volunteers, partners, agencies
- Maintain applicable records
- Organize program resources (i.e. people, facilities, funding,
materials, etc.)
- Provide support to local programs
- Ensure compliance and timely reports by local program coordinators
Marketing and Communications
- Ensure the timely execution of communications (i.e. phone, email,
fax, letters, etc.)
- Ensure appropriate and timely follow-up to communications
- Distribute information and materials to clients, including, but
not limited to the board of directors, program coordinators, media,
volunteers, sponsors, soccer organizations, partners and agencies
- Prepare and display presentations
- Ensure the availability of promotional and informational materials
QUALIFICATIONS
- Some familiarity with youth soccer
- Ability to relate to people from different backgrounds
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and writing
- Computer skills, including internet applications, word processing,
presentation applications
- Management experience preferred
